The Nunhead Cemetery
One of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries in London, but overlooked for a large portion of its history, The Nunhead cemetery is a staggering culmination of unhinged natural growth and monuments to souls long departed. It contains contrasting imposing monuments of eminent citizens with simple headstones for the common people. Abandoned in the middle of the 20th century it reopened to the public in 2001 with forty historic monuments restored.
Moving to London in 2015, French-born Clémentine March has become a much in-demand multi-instrumentalist, collaborating with artists including Snapped Ankles, Rozi Plain, Alabaster de Plume, Dana Gavanski, Bamboo, Yama Warashi, Blue House, Bas Jan and Haha Sounds Collective. She toured extensively in Europe and in the UK, starting her solo career supporting the acclaimed American indie-rock band Big Thief in 2018. Clémentine’s debut album Le Continent was released by the Scottish label Lost Map Records in January 2020.
