Memorial Bridge

Also known as Sapan Phut, Memorial Bridge is a bascule bridge over the Chao Phraya River connecting the districts of Phra Nakhon and Thonburi. It was completed in 1932 and constructed by Dorman Long, from Middlesbrough, UK, with Italian technicians from Società Nazionale Officine Savignano.

In the daytime, the bridge is surrounded by ferry boats, and gives excellent views of Wat Arun - the Temple of Dawn, which comes to life when it’s lit up at night.
