Hua Lamphong (Bangkok) Railway Station

The main terminal linking the capital with outlying provinces, Hua Lamphong was built to an Italian Neo-renaissance style and designed by Turin-born architect Mario Tamagno, who has made his mark on the city through designing several other important public buildings too.

With over 130 trains and 60,000 passengers a day, it’s a busy place, yet in spite of the bustle, holds a large, central waiting room with a laid-back atmosphere, full of cross-legged passengers enjoying lunch boxes while they wait for the long-distance services to depart.
