Launching as part of Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2019, Musicity x TAB 2019 will see eight sites located on the Northern side of the Estonian's capital city, spanning Põhjala, Kopli and Noblessner, come alive with new music created especially for each site.
Musicity works collaboratively across the disciplines of architecture, music and acoustic engineering to lay out alternative routes of experiencing contemporary cities. Profoundly akin to the biennale’s topic “Beauty Matters: The Resurgence of Beauty”, the interface it creates between architecture and music aims to reveal the intimate depth nestled in the acoustic qualities of our urban landscapes. Beyond physical surfaces and volumes, a world of deeper emotional connection awaits.
Participating artists include electronic music pioneer Aivar Tõnso; experimental violinist and singer Maarja Nuut; composer and DJ Sander Mölder; guitarist and live-electronics artist Argo Vals; new classical/trad accordionist Tuulikki Bartosik; electronic soundscape artist Taavi Tulev; jazz singer Rebecca Kontus; singer and electronic producer Mart Avi.
