City Image

Following 2017's successful relaunch of Musicity in London, in 2018 we added more new music to the map with seven brand new tracks for seven very different locations - thanks to the generous support of United St Saviour's, Charterhouse in Southwark and Team London Bridge.

All this next wave of musicians worked closely with sound artist Paul Bavister, from architectural firm Flanagan and Lawrence, to shape their tracks after measuring the spaces with our friends from ARUP. Paul also lectures at London's Bartlett School of Architecture on the relationship between sound and architecture. This fascinating aspect of the Musicity project gives a deeper connection between music and physical space, and is explained in Paul’s blog post.

We hope that you’ll enjoy this special selection of new music by getting out and about in South London and streaming the tracks via your smartphone, seeing this part of the city in a brand new light. Perhaps you’ll also discover new places of interest – areas of architectural significance, or a new coffee shop, cafe or record shop.
